There is a rapidly growing movement to develop and deploy alternative sources of cleaner, cheaper and domestically available energy. According to published reports, the fuel cell business is expected to surge from $500 million in 2005 to $12.5 billion in 2012. Fuel cells have many applications at various power levels as listed in Table 1. Fuel cell market penetration will generally begin with lower power level applications and grow in size as market acceptance and the technology matures.
